ICE PALACE & VMSC ARENA FACILITY PROTOCOLS – ICE RENTALS

GENERAL

EVERYONE must use the self-screening tool before entering the facility. This includes all team staff, participants, visitors, and spectators.

• Coaches/Instructors must stay home when ill and users are not allowed entry if they are ill with COVID-19 symptoms.

• Coaches/Instructors/Participants must be given information on social distancing protocols, hand washing, etc. http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/restoring/guidance.html

• Coaches/Instructors/Participants must adhere to all guidelines as outlined in the Province’s Team Sports and Other Recreational Activities Phase 3 Guidelines https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/proactive/2020_2021/restoring-safe-services-phase-3.pdf

• Coaches/Instructors/Safety Officers will be expected to advise their participants and spectators that daily self-screening is required before attending the facility and they are prohibited from attending the game/practice if they have COVID-19 symptoms.

ALL persons must wear a mask upon entering building participants and coaches may remove masks before going on ice surface. Masks to remain on for bench staff (Coaches & Trainers) during games.
• All persons entering the facility must sanitize their hands immediately upon entry. Frequent handwashing and use of sanitizer are strongly encouraged will visiting the facility.
• Participants are encouraged to arrive “ready to play”. For example, arrive in full gear, applicable to activity.
• Participants will be expected to follow distancing markers and seat assignments in dressing rooms and social distance on player benches.

VMSC
Maximum group size of 46 per session (5 participants & 1 instructor per dressing room/group) Under the current orange status the capacity is 25% of any room other than the playing surface. Current occupancy load is 20 in dressing rooms 25% of that is 5. The occupancy load is 243 in lower lobby 25% of that is 60. With the facility falling under the orange status we will need to use lower lobby as one dressing room and the current 4 dressing rooms available as the other.
• Max capacity for spectators in the VMSC is 175 in bleachers and 60 in upper lobby. It is strongly recommended that teams only allow 2 persons per participant. The safety officer for each team is expected to keep count and inform visting teams of rules.
• Seats in bleachers will be marked with appropriate distance.
• Only washroom facilities within the assigned dressing room may be used.
• Showers are not to be used at this time.
• Water fountains/drink machines are not available at this time so participants should bring their own labeled water bottle(s).
• Traffic flow will be clearly laid out and distancing markers in place for controlled entry and exit. Sign in staff will advise you on traffic flow, relative to the purpose of your visit. • Congregation will be actively discouraged

ICE PALACE

The safety officer for each team is expected to keep count and inform visting teams of rules. • Seats in bleachers will be marked with appropriate distance.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

• Participants will not be allowed to enter the facility through the main doors until 30 minutes prior to their ice time.

• Coaches/Instructors must make sure that the team has filled out the online screening sheet prior to entering the facility.

• Participants and Coaches/Instructors must follow designated pathways and remain in dressing room until the designated ice time and/or departure. Congregating or standing in hallways or common areas is not permitted at this time.

• We ask that all users remove skates/equipment and leave the facility within 15 minutes so that the rooms can be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

• FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STAFF AND OTHER USERS, ANY VIOLATION OF THESE PROTOCOLS BY PARTICIPANTS/COACHES/INSTRUCTORS WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF ALL FUTURE BOOKINGS.
